How to choose your mini quad?

It is important to choose your child's quad according to your use and its user.

Thermal child quad (petrol engine)

Different categories according to age are available on our site to help you make your choice:

Range quad child from 5 to 10 years:

  • Saddle height of the quad : Choose a height less than 600 mm between the saddle and the foot chock of the mini quad.
  • Engine power: 49cc displacement which corresponds to the smallest engine size and is the most common on pocket quads.
  • Safety :Clamping screws on all our children's quads. Allows to limit the speed of the quad while the child is learning. Circuit breaker on the handlebars: switches off the quad in case the child falls.
  • Wheel size: 4 to 6 inches. Increasing the wheel size allows the quads to overcome obstacles more easily, makes the mini quad more versatile in off-road conditions and allows it to be kept longer.

Child quad range from 10 to 14 years old :

  • Quad saddle height: Choose a height superior to 600 mm between the saddle and the foot chock of the mini quad.
  • Power: 49cc or 50cc displacement. Allows the pocket quad to reach up to 60 km/h for some models.
  • Safety: Clamping screws on the whole range of quads. Allows to limit the speed of the quad while the child is learning. Handlebar circuit breaker: switches off the quad in case of a fall.
  • Wheel size: 6 to 8 inches. Increasing the wheel size allows the quads to overcome obstacles more easily, makes the mini quad more versatile in off-roading and allows it to be kept longer.

Range quad child of 14 years old and more :

  • Saddle height: Choose a height greater than 600 mm
  • Power: 50 to 125cc, can reach up to 70 km/h for some models
  • Safety: Circuit breaker that turns off the quad in case of a fall.
  • Wheel size: 8 to 10 inches. Increasing the size of your wheels makes it easier to overcome obstacles, makes the quad more versatile in all terrain and allows you to keep it longer.

Ignition: Two modes are available: without E-start or with E-Start. E-start is the electric start of the Quad. Without E-start the start is done by a pull cord starter.

Warning: these characteristics are given as an indication, if the child is big for his age or if you want to keep your toy longer, you can choose to go up in range.

Electric child quad bike

Electric propulsion is a new technology. A price difference can be significant due to the cost of the battery. The power of an electric quad is measured in watts. 3 main criteria are to be taken into account:

Autonomy: The autonomy takes into account 3 important criteria:

  • Surface of use : The more the ground is uneven the more the quad will spend energy in order to keep a constant speed. Example : all terrain vs asphalt
  • Child's weight : The more the weight of the child is important, the more the quad will spend energy to propel itself.
  • Speed mode : 3 speed modes are available: slow (8km/h), medium (15km/h), and fast (25 km/h).

Power:

  • 500 Watt: Entry level power: for children 5 to 6 years old
  • 800 Watt: Most popular range. Wide range of use, ideal for children from 6 to 8 years old.
  • 1000 Watt: Most powerful range. Ideal for large sizes from 7 years to 10 - 12 years old.

Battery Maintenance: Recharge the battery before storing the quad for more than 30 days. In case the battery is not used permanently, it must be recharged at least every 30 days. Failure to follow these instructions will result in loss of battery power.

Safety: The whole of our electric range is equipped with a circuit breaker at the foot (presence pedal) which allows to switch off the quad immediately in case of a fall.

Warning: these characteristics are given as an indication, if the child is big for his age or if you want to keep your toy longer, you can choose to go up in range.

Tips to start your mini quad easily

It is useless to shoot with all your strength on the launcher of your child quad! You will not be able to start and you will break the launcher of the quad!

  • Gently pull the launcher of the pocket quad to suck gas into the 49cc engine. If the engine of the quad is new, hasn't been running for a long time or it is cold, put the choke in high position or even accelerate.
  • Gently pull the starter of the mini quad to a compression point. At this moment pull a sharp blow. Do not go to the end of the rope, you could break it or tear the starter from your quad!
  • If the two-stroke engine does not start after 4-5 attempts, try it by putting the choke on or accelerating.

Never go to the end of the rope, that's how mini quads throwers break!
