No overheating of the battery: 0.9A charging current. No overcharging of the battery: automatic switch-off as soon as the battery is charged.

Battery maintenance during winter or non-use periods: as soon as the battery is charged, the charger delivers a ""holding""" current that compensates for the battery's natural self-discharge. Your battery will always be ready to go even after long months of non-use!

Mode of operation :

The charger first provides a quasi-constant current of 0.9A which causes the voltage to rise in order to break the internal resistance of the battery to be charged and determine its condition. Then, the charger supplies a limited voltage of 6.7V for 6V batteries and 13.5V for 12V batteries until the battery reaches its optimum charge level.

The charger will not provide charge if the battery is sulphated or if the initial voltage is below 4.5V for 6V batteries and 8.5V for 12V batteries.

Once the battery is charged, the charger switches to "hold" mode. It then provides a low current that compensates for the natural self-discharge of the battery but does not overcharge it.
